Horrified

So, I was googling, trying to find a picture of the Koigu pants to show you and I am truly horrified to find out that there was a picture of them in the YouKnitWhat archives.

Now, when I originally saw this photo of the pants two years ago, I was more of a novice knitter. And, now I am looking at them and thinking, "are they fug?" Actually, what I am really thinking is, are they going to look horrible on me after all the work that would go into them and would they just end up incredibly saggy?

So, now is the time to tell me what you really think about these pants. I'm talking painful honesty here, people. Because it's a helluva waste of Koigu if we can all come to a consensus that they may just end up fodder for the fug file.

I think they're fabulous (in a kitschy retro kind of way), but I would never wear them out in public. I think I said before that they'd be great "lounging around the house" pants, and I stand by that statement.

I think they'd be okay if you're the size of the model in the picture. I'm not, so I think they'd look hideous on me. It does seem like they'd get saggy real fast. I don't know. I agree with emy though, I think they would be great for lounging around.

I can't stand them!! To me they're a horrible waste of good yarn... Sorry Emy, but I don't even think they look good on the skinny model.
I DO think they'd be cute (in small-ish sizes) if they were quilted fabric, so I'm not sure what that says about my taste!

Please do not knit these pants! All that beautiful wool. If you must-knit them as capris-out of some other merino but not only will they sag, the only thing anyone will notice when you have them on is how many squares there are across your arse. Friends don't let friends knit koigu modular pants.

I'm in the never knit those category. They might be cute on a kid, but I think it would be a great waste of Koigu.

You are thin enough to wear them but I would seriously worry about the sag factor in the seat of the pants. If you really wanted to make them perhaps you could line the back but then again I think you'd have a problem with the knees bagging too. Another pattern ruined by the realities of wearing it as a real person. Make more socks!

I think the other ladies are right on this one. Step away from the koigu! Make a clapotis or something if you need to kill THAT much time.
